SSS_02_2010_light_rail_station_and_garden_San_Juan_Alicante

In summer’s days, a lot of people go and come from the San Juan’s beach. We look for a shelter to protect traveller in (from) the sunny hot days in Alicante, since sun in these parts is ungrateful at some hours of the day.

Video: Built.

Conceptual video

We designed a huge white arch, palm leaf shaped, which is born from the ground and raises until 4 meters high, casting 60 meters of shadow. This is the most important objective.

WINNER OF IVVSA SOCIAL HOUSING COMPETITION 2006

Social housing blocks. Callosa del Segura. Alicante. (2006)

The houses in height extends their balconies to catch a double look, mountain to northwest and orchard to southeast. Only our people know as the sun rises by it and sets at that. They see as the slow passage of day passes in front of their eyes, protected from impertinent and indiscreet suns that mark our lives to the rhythm of the shadows of their balcony …

URBAN COMPETITION WINNER

City park system. Alcantarilla. Murcia (2008)

Ceramic is brightness and color. We worked with Toni Cumella, a long family tradition ceramist, to bring shine and color to the city.
